Blood Donation Camp Organised by Department of Civil Engineering

Summary:
On October 01, 2025, Wednesday the Department of Civil Engineering at Zeal Polytechnic Pune organized a successful blood donation camp on Occasion of and National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, The event, conducted in collaboration with Sassoon Hospital Pune, aimed to raise awareness about heart health and the importance of voluntary blood donation. This event is sponsored by CADDESK Pune. A total of 85 units of blood were collected during the camp, demonstrating strong community participation. Additionally, the event provided free health checkups for donors and students, including blood pressure monitoring and general health assessments, conducted by healthcare professionals from Sassoon Hospital. This initiative not highlighted the importance of blood donation but also promoted health awareness among participants & students. We thank Sassoon Hospital and all volunteers Of CESA Committee and Gadkari Trekkers Team for their support in making this event a success.

Objective / Purpose:

  1. Promote Heart Health Awareness: Highlight the significance of heart health in connection with World Heart Day and educate the community about heart-related issues.
  2. Encourage Voluntary Blood Donation: Raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and its impact on saving lives within the community.
  3. Facilitate Health Checkups: Provide free health assessments to donors and students, including blood pressure monitoring and general health evaluations, to promote overall well-being.
  4. Foster Community Engagement: Demonstrate strong community participation by collecting a substantial number of blood units (70) and encouraging volunteer involvement in the event.
  5. Acknowledge Partnerships and Contributions: Recognize the collaboration with Sassoon Hospital and the efforts of volunteers, emphasizing the collective impact of the event on public health awareness and blood donation efforts.

Outcomes:

  1. Collection of life-saving blood units for hospitals/blood banks.
  2. Promotion of voluntary blood donation and health awareness.
  3. Sense of social responsibility among students, staff, and community.
